Powur Review-Good Energy or Dirty Business

MLM Review

Tons of new business opportunities pop up every day. Some seem promising, and some are doomed to fail. I heard plenty of buzz about this new company, so I decided to check it out.

There is chance that you may have been approached by an aggressive sales rep about their solar panels, or you may have seen their sleek ads on Facebook.

Is this company legit? This is the first question that surfaces in your mind when you take notice of this company. Your due diligence can help you avoid falling prey to business schemes that don’t have a chance of becoming a success.

I want to congratulate you for taking precautions before diving into a business opportunity. Your cautionary approach will pay big dividends in the long run.

Unfortunately, many people jump into a business opportunity before evaluating it. This is the primary reason why you hear, and read about people failing in the business world. They fail to take measures that help them find business opportunities based on sound principles.

In this Powur review, I’m going to cover the company, its products, and compensation plan. After reading my review, you’ll be able to determine if this business opportunity is right for you.

Let’s take a close look at this company.

Powur Review – The Company

An Honest Powur Review

Website: http://www.powur.com/home

Surprisingly, the website doesn’t have a lot of information or details. It only features a slide show. I was expecting to see more, but I guess they believe that a slide show will drive their point home. I feel they should provide more details about their products and business opportunity.

Powur is an ambitious solar panel distributor that sells its products to consumers via direct sales marketing.

Powur stated they reached a milestone when they became the first public benefit corporate (B-corp) in the network marketing arena.

They are associated with a company called SolarCity. SolarCity installs solar panels throughout the United States.

Who is the driving force behind this company? Jonathan Budd is the founder and CEO at Powur PBC.

It is worth mentioning that Mr. Budd was the co-founder of a company called Rippin. Well, Rippin failed back in 2014!

After Rippin failed, Budd launched a task-based social change opportunity called MyStand. To be honest, it doesn’t seem like it was a big success.

Is MyStand making a big splash? It’s hard to tell because the MyStand website is under construction. This can raise your eyebrows if you are trying to evaluate Mr. Budd’s ability to run a successful start-up.

Powur suddenly hits the scene. I must admit that Powur has an interesting concept.

Let’s take a close look at their products.

Powur Review – The Products

Powur Solar Panels

Powur uses the peer-to-peer marketing model to sell solar electricity to their customers.

They outsource their solar panel installation work to a company called SolarCity.

The following comes directly from Powur’s website:

Powur is a diverse group of creative entrepreneurs that are focused on changing how energy is produced and consumed around the globe.

Working with SolarCity and its co-founder Elon Musk is putting us in prime position to roll out technology and shift billions of wealth to new people.

If you don’t know who Solarcity is, then you should check this out:

SolarCity, based in San Mateo, California, is a provider of energy services.

The company has an impeccable reputation when it comes to being a reliable provider of energy services. SolarCity also designs, finances, and installs solar power systems. According to Wikipedia, the company employed 9,051 people as of December 2014.

Powur states they offer energy coverage in the following areas:

California, Connecticut, Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Vermont, Texas, Maryland, Colorado, Washington, D.C., and Delaware. Their services cover nearly seventy percent of the United States population. It is also vital to point out that their coverage continues to grow as time progresses.

Do you have to pay money to join Powur? Yes! They charge a $499 dollar fee to gain access to their system. They do give $200 of that money back in the form of commissions after you scheduled five solar panel consultations that were completed. Mind you that is not five sales just five consultations. After that you will get paid between $10-$30 per scheduled and completed solar panel consultation. If any of those consultations turn into sales then you will get paid per kilowatt that the system is designed for. Also after 3 system sales you get a 2k bonus.

Powur Review – The Compensation Plan

As I stated earlier, Powur is a network marketing opportunity. It is a commissioned based opportunity. Your sales will determine your pay.

The Powur compensation plan compensates affiliates when they generate solar customer leads and solar panel installs from SolarCity. As you can see, you will not get paid if you don’t work and secure sales!

Powur Ranks

At this time, there are different 7 ranks with the Powur Compensation plan…

Independent Powur Advisor – At this rank, you sign up as an affiliate of Powur. You will not get MLM commissions.

Certified Powur Advisor – You must secure a minimum of five homeowners referrals who complete solar proposals to achieve this rank.

Senior Power Advisor – Things start to get more interesting at this rank. You are expected to secure at least ten personal homeowners referrals who complete solar proposals, and your downline must generate 25 homeowners referrals who complete solar proposals  a month.

National Power Advisor – This is the big leagues! For this rank, you must generate at least fifteen personal homeowners referrals who complete solar proposals, and your downline must generate 75 homeowners referrals who complete solar proposals  a month.

Executive Power Advisor– You refer 2 Homeowners who complete an installation and your team refers 250 Homeowners who complete an appointment, with no more than 50% from one line.

Vice Presidential Power Advisor– You personally refer 3 Homeowners who complete an installation and your grid refers 250 Homeowner installations

Presidential Power Advisor-You personally refer 5 Homeowners who complete an installation and your grid refers 750 Homeowner installations.

What Are Proposal Commissions?

This is a good question. Proposals are Solar Energy customer leads in Powur.

A Powur distributor will get a one-time $200 commission if they bring in five proposals to the company. This doesn’t seem too hard to do.

I must add that you will get an extra $40-400 commission if your recruits bring in their five proposals depending on your Powur Advisor level..

Uni-level Residual Commissions

Residuals are funneled through the uni-level compensation plan where your personal sponsored members are the first level, and they are promoted to the second level (and higher) when they sponsor someone.

Commissions are rendered at $200 per every five qualified proposals submitted to SolarCity.

Every second affiliate can get passed up to your upline. This is known as “Pass Up’s”. The company feels this will give members extra incentive to work harder at securing prospects for their products.

Solar Contract Commission

A Powur distributor will get paid a commission for every Solar Contract they bring in.

It’s vital to point out that the commission is based on the size of the system and the tier level of the company that installs it.

If you manage to get three or more contracts in a month, you are eligible to get a one time $2000 bonus commission that month. This is not bad when you compare it to the incentives being offered by similar network marketing opportunities.

After you hit that 2k bonus your personal installation revenue doubles across every tier.

Now, let’s take a look at the Grid Installation revenue. This is ongoing revenue  you can earn on all of the installations occurring within your referral network. So the more people that work for you and for your downline, the more you get paid.

Grid Mentor Pool

Is a pool to compensate individuals to mentor an assist future leaders on growing and expanding their Powur business. Below is a visual explanation.

Powur Review – The Final Verdict

After evaluating everything, I must say that this company looks pretty good.

The CEO had some rocky moments in the past, but it seems like he has hit his stride.

I like their concept of focusing on getting retail sales instead of recruiting people. This shows they believe in their product.

The compensation plan is not bad. Not bad at all! This is where the big money is. I don’t have a problem with this.

Are you interested in increasing your yearly revenue? Do you have a problem with selling solar panels?

Can you excel with your sales presentation while you go from door to door?

Can you handle getting rejected numerous times?

Powur is something you should consider if you have decent sales skills.

Stepping out of your comfort zone is the only way you will exceed with this opportunity.

eCommerce is a better choice if you are introverted or shy.

My Top Recommendation For Online Businesses

Now I think Powur is a great company with a great mission but frankly, I am not going to go door to door. I like to spend about 10 or 15 hours a week and let my automated system take care of the rest. So if you would rather build an automated business that keeps producing income for you even while you are sleeping then check out this link…Automation Rules

About the author: I spent most of my career as a Financial Services Representative. I spoke to people all over the United States about investments and personal risk management. I educated, informed and really took a very consultative approach to my business. I ,however, became very burned out to the point where I physically felt ill every time I went to work. I was depressed and had aged dramatically from the level of stress that I experienced on a day to day basis. I finally had it. My health was really being affected . My blood pressure was to the point that I was taking three medications to keep it under control. I felt hopeless and trapped. I realized that the corporate deck was stacked against me and always would be. I looked for a way to change my life. I started investigating internet marketing. That is when I found a new passion. I started going through every affiliate marketing training I could get my hands on. That is when I realized that I had what it takes to be successful. I have really enjoyed the day to day opportunity to earn an executive income without the executive stress. I have lost weight. My blood pressure is down. I don’t have to worry about making it to work on time. I am my own boss. Funny thing is, I work all day and I don’t even feel tired!
